– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Dear friends, I would highly appreciate if somebody could help me in the following: In my Baron 55B I have a EDO-Century 3B autopilot installed. Unfortunately we have lost the manual (which you have to have on board leagually in Switzerland). The company which made the autopilot does no longer exist. Question: Does anybody have an idea how I could get a hold of the official manual for that autopilot? I would be ready to pay, of course. Thanks very much in advance R. Zurmuehlen

I have the operation instructions in the manual for my Piper Turbo Arrow III, and another set which was sent to me for the same Autocontrol but from a Seneca II. Whilst they are for Piper Autocontrol IIIB, they are actually Century Autopilots which as pointed out by others are now EDO Aire in Texas Wells. If you need a copy, then I will send you a copy. Let me know if you want me to send them to you.

I recently called Bobby Bateman at Century Flight Systems Inc., (Municipal Airport, P.O. Box 610, Mineral Wells TX 76068) looking for a manual for my Century I autopilot. He mailed a new one to me for FREE. His phones are: +1 (817) 325-2517 and fax at +1 (817) 325-2546 Good luck! Michael. EDO-Aire lives on as a division of Sigma-Tek http://www.sigmatek.com/ However, any good radio shop or long-time distributor of theirs should have copies of the manual in hand.  I don’t know who that would be in Switzerland.  Ask your radio shop first; if they’ve ever installed one, they should have a copy of the manual on file. – Rod Farlee

According to the manual for a Century IIB, Century Flight Systems, Inc. aquired all rights to the EDO Corp. Avionics Division on 08/05/83.   You can contact them at:   Century Flight Systems, Inc. P.O. Box 610 Mineral Wells, Texas  76067  USA (817) 325-2517 Also, it is worth noting that the designation numbers can depend on whose numbers you use.  For example and Piper AutoControl IIIB (3B) is the same as a Century IIB (2B).
